Love it, all amenities even wash house with private shower stalls and bathroom changing areas. Clean ,well kept and attended. Closes before area attractions like restaurants and shops tho not so great ,if you don't notice the time. Beach is clean, pets only during certain times, love the kites, always loads of kite flyers. GOOD place for day trip. Parking us a hassle tho and not free.
Great landing platform for your time on the beach. I appreciate the showers and the picnic tables for a picnic lunch. The playground is little, but nice-the main attraction is the beach anyway.
Exceptionally clean and we'll maintained. Parking is a bit pricey if you are visiting for a week or more but if you want bathrooms, drinks,showers and up close to the beach it's worth it. During summer months it's busy. Best time to go is morning hours as afternoons get crowded. They sale extra items you may have forgotten for the kids. i.e., boogie board, goggles and such. Also ice cream. Best part is you can bring your pet as long as they are on a leash.
We stopped by the park one evening. There were no signs we saw describing hours. After about 20 minutes we found out all public access points had been padlocked with no warning. None of the private condo residents would let us out, even though I explained that I am severely disabled. We had to climb up a sand dune and then work our way shimmy up the pier, a challenge for an old woman with a heart condition, neurological problems and multiple spinal surgeries. I lived in Charleston for several years when younger, and visited since. This situation is new and dangerous. I was injured getting off the beach. An unusually high tide or medical problem could have disastrous results. There are no call boxes and my phone was in the car so I had no way of getting help except for the very rude condo residents one of who told us to get a job and buy a condo. This is not the city I remember at all.
This is where i go to walk a beautiful beach. Free parking, changing rooms, showers...if you want to swim. But miles of quiet, friendly, spacious beaches are what draw me.
